Superintendent’s Remark
Kaohsiung Armed Forces General Hospital is the main hospital responsible for the “Southern Medical Alliance” in the Military Medical System and is responsible for the medical support of troops at all levels and military and civilian medical care. Looking back at the hospital’s rapid growth and development process in the past 10 years, the important milestones include the construction and commissioning of the Dongsha and Taiping Island Telemedicine Facility, the opening of the Military Medical Building, the establishment of the Heat Stroke Prevention and Treatment Center, the commissioning of the Hybrid Operating Room, the Radiation Oncology Center and Medical Cosmetic Center, the certification of the quality of cancer care, the commissioning of the Clinical Toxicology Center, the establishment of the Department of Chinese Medicine, the Integrated Pain Management Center, the Da Vinci Surgical System, the Nuclear Medicine Center, the Second Cardiac Catheterization Center. Other achievements include getting the Symbol of National Quality for Hepatocellular C treatment, accreditation of Medical Laboratory P2, accreditation of ENT Training Hospital, and accreditation of Organ Transplantation Hospital, which are all very fruitful. Since assuming the position of superintendent, I have been actively promoting organ donation, applying for physician academic qualifications and teaching positions, home care services, and strengthening the linkage of the community healthcare network. At the same time, the hospital has invested the necessary manpower to focus on the enhancement of medical capacity for war and the improvement of trauma treatment techniques, and has put the effort into the organizational structure adjustment and replenishment, and has continued to enrich the capacity medical supply, to make the medical providers comfortable and free of any worries.
With the support of our predecessors, we strive to become a “reliable health guardian for our military and civilians forever” by protecting the health of our military and civilians by excelling in medical service. We have implemented our core values of “Safety, Professionalism, Care, and Excellence” in the quality of services provided by our clinical care providers and the effectiveness of our administrative departments, to make us the first choice excellent hospital for the military and civilians in the south. At the same time, in the rapid growth of the Southern Medical Alliance, we will play the role of a leader, unite the different specialties and capabilities of each hospital, and lead all of our staff to move towards a medical center.
In this era of rapid growth in medical technology, I encouraged all colleagues to come with me, leading the military hospitals in the south to continue to improve medical technology and provide wholehearted medical services with the spirit of “whole-person” care. We will be the most solid support for the national health care policy and the health of the military and civilians in the South.
