A:According to the Archives Management Bureau's “Fee Standards for Archive Viewing, Transcription, and Copying”, the charges are:

1. Viewing or transcribing archives: NT$20 per 2 hours, with any time less than 2 hours counted as 2 hours.
2. Copying archives: fees are charged according to the “Archive Copying Fee Schedule”.
3. If mailing service is required, postage is charged at actual cost, with an additional handling fee of NT$50 per request.


Q:What should applicants pay attention to when using archives?

A: 1. When transcribing or copying archives, if copyright issues are involved, they must be handled in accordance with the Copyright Act and related regulations.

2. Applicants viewing or transcribing archives must preserve the integrity of the archival material. If any of the following occurs, the handling unit may suspend the viewing or transcription; if criminal liability is involved, the case will be referred to the competent prosecutor for investigation:
(1) Adding notes, altering, replacing, extracting, highlighting, or damaging the archives.
(2) Disassembling archives that have been bound.
(3) Destroying the archives or altering their contents by other means.
(4) Unauthorized removal of parts of the archives that are meant to be restricted or concealed.
(5) Taking archives out of the viewing area without permission.
(6) Entering archive work or storage areas without authorization.


Q:What identification documents should applicants bring when viewing, transcribing, or copying archives at the court?

A:When an applicant has been notified of approval to view, transcribe, or copy archives at the court's archive reading facility, they should first contact the business officer to confirm the appointment time and bring a valid photo ID. After verification, the ID will be returned.


Q:What are the opening hours and location for viewing, transcribing, or copying the court's archives?
A: 1. Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and public holidays) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

2. All archive viewing, transcription, and copying are conducted at the court's archive reading facility.

A:All archives held by the court that are not restricted for public access under the Archives Act and related regulations are available for application; however, the principle is to provide copies of the archives.

A:Citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan) who are registered in the ROC, as well as domestic legal persons and organizations they establish, may apply for archive use in accordance with Article 9 of the Government Information Disclosure Act. The same applies to ROC passport holders residing abroad. Foreign nationals may apply only if the laws of their own country do not restrict ROC citizens from requesting government information.
