In recent years, cancer has become the leading cause of death among the nation's people. Our hospital, in cooperation with the National Health Agency to prevent and treat cancer, has established a single‑window cancer screening service offering free cancer screening. You are welcome to make use of it. Please bring your health insurance card to inquire at the cancer screening single window, where staff will explain and arrange examinations for you.
Cancer Screening Service Items (Effective from January 1, Year 114):
- Colorectal Cancer Screening – Fecal Occult Blood Test: Ages 45~74 or ages 40~44 with a family history of colorectal cancer; free examination every two years.
Obtain a stool collection tube and collect a surface sample of stool; the laboratory will test for occult blood. No special fasting is required, but postpone the test if you have diarrhea or constipation with bleeding.
- Breast Cancer Screening – Mammography: Women aged 40~74, free examination every two years.
Go to the radiology department for the exam; during the procedure, appropriate pressure is applied to compress the breast to avoid tissue overlap and reduce radiation, achieving optimal imaging. Although there may be slight discomfort, it is generally tolerable.
- Oral Cancer Screening – Oral Mucosa Examination: Individuals aged 30 and above who smoke or chew betel nut (including former users), or indigenous people aged 18-29 who chew betel nut (including former users), free examination every two years.
Visit the dentistry or ENT department, where a professional doctor will perform a visual oral examination and neck lymph node assessment.
- Cervical Cancer Screening – Pap Smear: Women aged 25 and older with sexual experience can receive a free examination annually (or at least once every three years).
Go to the obstetrics and gynecology ward for examination, where an obstetrics and gynecology doctor takes a cervical smear sample. The process is convenient and simple, and most people do not feel pain. (Please avoid during menstruation).
- Lung Cancer Screening – Low-Dose CT Scan:1. Having a family history (1) males aged 45 to 74 (2) females aged 40 to 74, whose parents, children, or siblings have been diagnosed with lung cancer. Or 2. Heavy smoking history: ages 50 to 74 with a smoking history of 20 pack‑years or more and who are willing to quit smoking or have quit within the past 15 years. Free screening every two years.
Go to the radiology department for examination; no need to fast, no contrast injection required.
