If you have questions about electronic medical records, please refer to the following FAQ:

Q1. How do electronic medical records affect my healthcare rights?
A. Electronic medical records primarily convert paper medical records into a legally valid electronic format. This does not affect patients' healthcare rights in any way. What it brings to patients is convenience.

Q2. How do I apply for electronic medical records?
A. Our hospital currently provides electronic medical record applications. Within the scope of implementation, you may apply for a printed copy of electronic medical records at our outpatient service desk. Electronic file copying and downloading services are not yet available.

Q3. Will my personal privacy be protected after the implementation of electronic medical records?
A. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has established strict electronic medical records protection laws and related implementation regulations. Any hospital must report to the local health bureau before implementing electronic medical records and undergo inspections by the Taiwan Hospital Association commissioned by the Ministry. Our hospital passed the electronic medical records inspection in April 2010 and has implemented strict privacy protection measures to ensure the security of your health information. Please refer to the personal privacy protection page for details.

Q4. Where can I find more information about electronic medical records?
A. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has established an electronic medical records promotion section where you can access the latest electronic medical records information. Additionally, our hospital's electronic medical records section is another source of relevant information.

Q5. What is inter-hospital electronic medical records exchange?
A. After electronic medical records are implemented, hospitals may exchange patient medical records data using a common electronic document format. When you visit Hospital B, with your consent, you may request your physician to download previous examination, test, and medical record data from Hospital A for your convenience.

Q6. Which types of electronic medical records can I apply for inter-hospital exchange?
A. Currently, data exchange is limited to images and reports of expensive medical imaging examinations. Our hospital currently provides inter-hospital exchange for CT scan, MRI, and ultrasound reports and images in accordance with the Ministry's operational schedule.

Q7. Which hospitals have implemented electronic medical records?
A. The types of electronic medical records implemented vary by hospital. You may check the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Electronic Medical Records Promotion Section honor roll, or contact the relevant hospitals for details.

Q8. Which hospitals provide inter-hospital electronic medical records exchange services?
A. The Ministry of Health and Welfare is currently assisting over one hundred hospitals, which will gradually begin providing imaging and related report inter-hospital exchange services by the end of this year. You may visit the Ministry's National Medical Image Exchange Center website for inquiries.

Q9. Do I need to pay for electronic medical records applications or inter-hospital exchange?
A. Currently, our hospital's electronic medical record printing service fees are the same as paper medical record copying fees. Inter-hospital exchange fees have not been planned yet and will be determined based on future Ministry policies.
