Master's Program in Long-Term Care
Establishment History
The Institute of Medical Technology was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2013, integrating the fields of science, engineering, agriculture, and biomedical sciences. It is characterized by interdisciplinary research and development in biomedical testing, biomedical materials, biomedical computational simulation, and medical instruments, recruiting graduates from the colleges of medicine, science, engineering, agriculture, and oceanography, and cultivating interdisciplinary talent in integrated biomedical technology.
In December 2018, our institute signed a memorandum of understanding on academic exchange and industry‑academia cooperation with Sun Yat‑sen University; the collaboration is an important policy for the hospital.
Curriculum Planning
Since the 109 academic year, research and development directions are divided into two groups:
- 【Group A – Medical Engineering】 aims at the development of medical instruments as the research and development goal, integrating research groups in biomedical materials, biomedical simulation, and biomedical sensing.
- 【Group B – Smart Long-Term Care】 aims to cultivate advanced long-term care professionals for the elderly population who possess both medical technology and practical expertise as well as humanistic literacy.
