Development Background

The Medical Policy Association leverages ten years of experience in medical quality indicators, referencing various domestic and international indicator systems and development trends, and aligning with national health policies to establish the Taiwan Clinical Performance Indicator (TCPI) program, aiming to increase the applicability of indicators in clinical practice, develop indicators that are closer to clinical care, and build a highly real-time and easily managed system to assist hospitals in internal performance monitoring and improvement.

Indicator Content

The currently developing indicator framework includes three categories of indicators: comprehensive care, mental health care, and long-term care. The comprehensive care category includes indicators for emergency care, inpatient care, intensive care, surgical care, and key care; the mental health care category includes indicators for acute care, chronic care, and key care; long-term care currently has indicators related to resident care in nursing homes.

Guidance System

TCPI data allows participating hospitals, according to their needs, to select specific indicator items and submit hospital-level indicator data themselves, serving as a driving force for continuous self-reflection and quality improvement within the hospital. This system strictly maintains the confidentiality of the data submitted by each hospital, aiming to foster a foundation of mutual trust and a culture of collaborative learning and growth, encouraging participating hospitals to submit data with integrity to achieve internal improvement. TCPI provides timely, friendly, and in-depth services; if you have related questions, you are welcome to call or write to inquire.
