The Ministry of Health and Welfare conducts hospital accreditation in accordance with Article 28 of the Medical Act, with the primary purpose of ensuring “patient rights” and “medical service quality” so that the public receives proper medical care. The reform goal of the new hospital accreditation system (applicable from 2015 to 2018) is to introduce the “Patient Focus Method (PFM)”, which verifies patient care processes on site to assess hospital medical quality, aiming to reduce interference with daily hospital operations. The reform direction focuses on “simplification,” “optimization,” and “daily integration.” Among them, “daily integration” aims to prevent hospitals from handling accreditation with non‑routine procedures. Therefore, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has established a continuous monitoring indicator system and added “continuous monitoring indicators” in the accreditation regulations. Our hospital participates in the accreditation system by reporting the accreditation indicators, continuously maintaining the quality of medical services and patient safety.
