Patient Rights and Obligations

Rights of Patients Receiving Care

  • Right to Equal Medical Care:Our hospital treats the rights of all patients equally, regardless of gender, age, race, political affiliation, geographic location, socioeconomic status, beliefs, or values, and they can equally receive appropriate medical services.

  • Right to Knowledge of Medical Information:Upholding the concept that “the patient is the main subject of medical care”, during your visit, our physicians, when diagnosing and treating, should explain to you or your accompanying family members the condition, test and examination information, treatment plan, and prognosis. If you have any uncertainties about the medical services provided by our hospital, we strongly encourage you to ask the physician or other medical staff for clarification.

  • Right to a Safe Medical Environment:You have the right to receive quality medical services and a safe care environment. While caring for you, our hospital also strictly adheres to measures and actions that protect your safety.

  • Right to Refuse:All of our medical staff wear name tags or identification badges; if someone is not wearing one, you may refuse the medical services they provide.

  • Right to Privacy:Our hospital, during your medical care, will keep all information about your condition and health confidential in accordance with the law; if you do not wish family members or visitors other than yourself to know your medical information, please inform the hospital front desk.

  • Right to Autonomy in Decision-Making:Our hospital, upon request from your relatives or accompanying family members, may explain your condition to them in a timely manner; if you do not want certain family members to know your condition, please notify the nursing station or your attending physician in writing in advance to facilitate handling. You have the right to participate in the medical care process and decide whether to accept the medical procedures recommended by the doctor.

  • Right to Informed Consent:Unless in an emergency, before any medical procedure, you have the right to request that medical staff explain the purpose, risks, consequences of not undergoing, and any alternative methods of all examinations, treatments, and human trials. Written proof of your informed consent must also be obtained.

  • Right to Ongoing Care:You have the right to request reasonable continuous care. When necessary, we will assist you with referrals or arrange home care.

  • Right to Advance Medical Directives:You have the right to plan your medical decisions in advance for unforeseen circumstances, or to designate an agent to make medical decisions on your behalf, including choosing palliative care and refusing cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the end of life, etc.

  • Other:Our hospital is a regional teaching hospital; to promote medical education and cultivate excellent medical personnel, we kindly ask for your cooperation with related teaching activities. At the same time, you have the right to refuse any examinations, tests, or related activities that are not related to treatment. Your refusal will not affect the attitude of our medical staff toward you or the quality of medical services provided.

Obligations of Patients Receiving Care

  • Proactive Disclosure:You should provide our medical staff with truthful information about your condition, medical history (including allergies and travel history), and other relevant circumstances to facilitate appropriate medical services.

  • Communication and Cooperation:For treatment plans and procedures agreed upon by both parties, you should cooperate with our medical staff. If you cannot accept the medical plan arranged by the staff, please inform them of the reasons so alternative options can be arranged.

  • Compliance with Law:You should not request our medical staff to provide falsified medical records, sick leave certificates, receipts, or medical reports, etc.

  • Responsibility:You are responsible for paying the reasonable fees required by our hospital for the services provided.

  • Observe Regulations:You should abide by the rules set by our hospital and respect the rights of medical staff and other patients.
