Physician PGY Training Program

Training Objectives

This program strengthens post‑graduation holistic medical care, care in the five major specialties, geriatric medicine, and primary care training, and promotes interdisciplinary team collaboration. Through experience in wards, outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and community medicine, it cultivates new physicians to possess independent clinical practice abilities.

Implementation Methods

First‑year curriculum:

  • General medical basic training course, 24 hours and at least 25 case analyses
  • 3 months of general internal medicine
  • 2 months of general surgery
  • 1 month of general pediatrics
  • 1 month of general obstetrics and gynecology
  • 1 month of emergency medicine
  • 2 months of community medicine and 2 months of elective courses

Second year: Four groups of grouped training and non‑grouped training are available for selection

Courses offered by our hospital: 1 month of community internal medicine, 1 month of community surgery, 2 months of community medicine

Program Goals

Adopts the competency‑based medical education (CBME) spirit, covering patient care, medical knowledge, learning and improvement in clinical work, interpersonal relationships and communication skills, professional medical conduct, and clinical work within the system.
