1. Handled in accordance with the Kaohsiung City Government Health Bureau letter No. 11536512000 dated June 25, 2026.

2. To improve the review efficiency of applications for the commissioning of newly established high‑containment laboratories, the Center for Disease Control this year commissioned the Taiwan Biosafety Association to assist with the related administrative affairs of the high‑containment laboratory commissioning application. For the division of responsibilities between the CDC and the Biosafety Association and the review process for new high‑containment laboratory commissioning applications, please download and refer to the information on the CDC’s global website (page: Home > Infectious Diseases and Prevention Topics > Laboratory Biosafety Section > Regulations on Infectious Biological Materials > 5 – High‑Containment Laboratory Commissioning, Suspension, Downgrade, and Closure).

3. Since the installing unit may encounter situations after the completion testing of a high‑containment laboratory where the application for commissioning review reveals non‑compliance with biosafety regulations, leading to required hardware improvements, increased costs, or schedule delays, the CDC this year also commissioned the Biosafety Association to provide project consulting and guidance services, which will be conducted through professional consulting meetings. For the application process for project consulting services related to the design and construction of high‑containment laboratories, please refer to the association’s website (Biosafety Association Home > High‑Containment Consulting Section).
