Taiwan is entering a super‑aged society, and the prevalence of sarcopenia among chronic kidney disease and dialysis patients is as high as 40%‑60%. Uremia can cause various physiological abnormal reactions, such as abnormal protein catabolism, inflammatory responses, and nutritional loss, leading to loss of muscle mass and strength, decreased physical stamina, which in turn increases falls, fractures, and the risk of death. To strengthen prevention, our hospital has formed a professional team consisting of nephrologists, hemodialysis center nurses, renal‑care educators, dietitians, rehabilitation physicians, and fitness coaches, establishing a sarcopenia screening and referral system.

On June 10, 2025, a joint patient association meeting was held, combining courses, nutrition guidance, exercise instruction, and sharing experiences of kidney patients, showcasing the results of sarcopenia improvement.

We continue to provide holistic care for kidney patients, accompanying you to stay active, eat the right foods, and protect muscle strength and health.
