The ROC Army Kaohsiung General Hospital achieves another milestone in emergency and critical care information integration! The “Injury Patient Tracking System” independently developed by our hospital’s IT department was recently selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s first edition of the “Taiwan 50 Outstanding SMART Applications”. With the scale of a regional teaching hospital, our institution became one of the few units to receive dual honors in the national competition, ranking alongside many medical centers, fully demonstrating the innovative strength of the military medical system.
To shorten the golden time of emergency rescue, our “Injury Patient Tracking System” actively aligns with the Ministry of the Interior’s Fire Department, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the National Disaster Prevention and Rescue Technology Center’s “One‑Stop Emergency Rescue” policy. The system successfully converts pre‑hospital early warning information into the FHIR international standard format and automatically creates tracking records through a real‑time messaging mechanism. The emergency team can use a dynamic dashboard to instantly monitor patients’ vital signs, incident information, and transfer status, greatly enhancing the response efficiency of the hospital’s emergency department. Notably, this system was developed by newly recruited staff in the IT department within a short period, fully confirming our hospital’s strong portability and agility in smart medical development models.
Looking ahead, as domestic medical software fully moves toward the FHIR international standard, the ROC Army Kaohsiung General Hospital will continue to uphold the spirit of openness, sharing, and innovation. Our hospital will deepen cooperation with central health authorities and international standards organizations, leveraging the dual mission of defense medicine and public health, and contribute military medical expertise to building a new ecosystem of smart healthcare in Taiwan.
