To improve the quality of medical care for citizens and reduce the burden on medical personnel, our hospital, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Executive Yuan, promotes the medical digital transformation policy, actively adopts the international FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard and SMART application framework. Our hospital’s self‑developed “Fireline Superhero (FHIRLineBot)” stood out among the national selections, winning recognition as part of the first “Taiwan 50 Excellent SMART Applications” list. The hospital, led personally by President Chen Yihong, along with Director Zheng Chongnan of the IT office and engineer Xu Huangzhan, attended the award ceremony on April 13, 2026 (the 115th year of the Republic) at the Taipei International Convention Center.

The award‑winning “Fireline Superhero” uses LINE, the platform most familiar to citizens, as its user interface, and incorporates the SMART on FHIR secure authorization framework. Under the premise of safety and personal authorization, the public can instantly query their own lab reports, medication records, and medical history through the system. In addition, the system provides practical medication reminders and follow‑up appointment notifications, eliminating the need for users to install an additional app and truly returning control of health data access to the public, concretely realizing a human‑centered smart healthcare vision.

Hospital President Chen Yihong emphasized at the conference: “These two trophies are not just honors, but also our hospital’s determination to pursue smart healthcare.” The president noted that by adopting the SMART on FHIR architecture, future medical applications will be able to achieve “plug‑and‑play” across different information systems, similar to downloading an app on a smartphone, which will help standardize electronic medical records and effectively reduce the burden on medical staff. Director Zheng Chongnan of the IT office also stated that the hospital will continue to base development on open standard architectures, and, while ensuring information security and authorization mechanisms, will create more intelligent applications that closely meet clinical and public needs, serving as the core direction of digital transformation.
