Happy Living Weather APP
1. To prevent heat injury, the Department of Health, the Central Weather Bureau, and the Academia Sinica have collaborated to develop the “Happy Living Weather APP – Health Weather Service,” the nation’s first health weather early‑warning platform. It integrates national weather and health‑related information, providing a heat‑injury warning map for all counties and cities across Taiwan (including townships and districts), and allows real‑time queries of daily and weekly “heat‑injury forecasts,” showing the time periods with the highest heat‑injury risk during the day, helping the public to respond early (e.g., avoid going out, stay hydrated, etc.).
2. The APP also takes into account the different needs of the general public and vulnerable groups (e.g., children, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses, outdoor workers, athletes), providing specific heat‑injury prevention tips. Using “simple and fun” visual graphics, it helps users learn more “heat‑injury prevention basics.” Users can also set and switch “roles” to monitor the heat‑injury risk for themselves and for friends and family nearby, and instantly share the information via mobile phones to jointly prevent heat injury.
